Farmers in Mid and West Wales are being urged to apply for funding to help them operate in a more efficient and environmentally-friendly way
Regional AM, Neil Hamilton, UKIP Group Leader in the Assembly and party spokesman for Rural Affairs, Agriculture and Environment, is calling on farmers to take advantage of the Welsh Government grant.
The Farm Business Grant (FBG) helps farmers to improve the economic and environmental performance of their holdings by providing a 40% contribution towards capital investments in 70 items of equipment and machinery.
Neil Hamilton said:
“This is a great opportunity for farmers who are looking to improve their efficiency and help make their farms more environmentally friendly.
“It is well worth making an application as you could be eligible for a one-off grant of between £3,000 and £12,000.
“This second application window for the FBG, which runs until September 29, follows the first which successfully attracted over 500 applications who requested £3.4m of grant support.
“I hope that farmers across Mid & West Wales will seize this opportunity and make sure they do not miss out on any funding which will help them improve their business.”
Farmers must attend a Farming Connect ‘Farming for the future roadshow’ to be eligible to apply for the grant. The first shows attracted over 4,000 farmers and the next round of roadshows will be held across Wales starting at the beginning of September.
The roadshows aim to prepare farm businesses for the future and provide information on the many ways Farming Connect can offer advice and support.
For more information on dates and locations for the roadshows contact the Farming Connect Service Centre on 08456 000 813.
