West Wales AM Nerys Evans has again raised the traffic safety concerns of Llanddewi Velfrey residents with Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones in the Senedd this week.
The Plaid AM recently arranged a site meeting in the village between local residents and the Deputy First Minister to discuss the need to widen the pavement running through the village as well as reducing the speed limit
Nerys Evans said: "Following the site meeting between local residents and the Deputy First Minister in Llanddewi Velfrey recently I asked him for an update during the Deputy First minister's questions this week.
"He told me that he was pleased that he had the opportunity to come and visit the village and that his officers are currently looking at what is possible. He did say that he would write to me as soon as possible with the different options for Llanddewi Velfrey.
"As everyone who regularly travels on the A40 knows, it's a very busy road and is extremely dangerous for pedestrians to walk on the pavement from one side of the village to the other.
"We know that there have been several incidents and we could see from the traffic during the site meeting the severity of the situation.
"The importance of this issue was reflected in the number of local residents who came out to meet with the Minister to express their views"
