Sir, A Tenby Observer headline of March 30 stated 'Allotments all set to move again'. Apparently, town councillors have given their backing to Pembrokeshire County Council plans to relocate town allotments from St. John's Hill to Bryn Hir. Mrs. Christine Brown is quoted as saying, "As long as the allotment holders are informed about the situation and are happy, then we're happy with the idea." No, Mrs. Brown, the allotment holders are NOT happy. But no one bothered to ask us! The town council was happy to rubber stamp the proposals without consultation or question. What of the future? If this small green urban space, cultivated as a garden for well over 100 years, becomes vacant and available for sale, will the town council give their backing for its development? Will we have yet more flats or what?

Barbara Morris, Allotment Gardener,
