There's no change at the top of the Rabbits Winter League after both leading teams enjoyed comfortable victories on Sunday morning. First off the tee were Mark Edwards and Dorian Thomas, who maintained their unbeaten record after closing out their match against Meurig Jones (standing in for George Pegg) and Tony Hopkins on the 15th.

And that's how far joint league leaders Bill Beynon and Macky Harts also had to go before keeping their title hopes alive with a victory over the struggling Steves, namely Watkins and Harries. They, along with Pegg and Hopkins, remain just a point above the spoon position, which is still occupied by Fred Adlam and John Murphy. Indeed, the current 'strongest' pairing suffered the full force of a Mike Hale/Joe Hewitt backlash as the league's former pace-setters put two successive defeats behind them to romp home with eight holes to spare. With just two weeks remaining, it promises to be an interesting dogfight at the bottom of the table and, the way things are going, it could all rest on the very last game of the season. Fingernail biting stuff, for sure. Unlike the aforementioned matches, Sunday's two other encounters were closely fought affairs, with both going to the final hole before being decided. After suffering two successive defeats on the 18th, Dafydd Evans and Mike Munro were delighted that at last it was third time lucky as they overcame Dave Morgan and Chris Smith, while Ron Murphy and Anthony Allen kept themselves in a podium place with a win over Dave Moran and Glyn Price. Full results were: Mark Edwards and Dorian Thomas beat Meurig Jones (sub for George Pegg) and Tony Hopkins 5 and 3; Mike Hale and Joe Hewitt beat Fred Adlam and John Murphy 9 and 8; Ron Murphy and Anthony Allen beat Dave Moran and Glyn Price 1 up; Dave Morgan and Chris Smith lost to Dafydd Evans and Mike Munro 1 down; Bill Beynon and Macky Harts beat Steve Watkins and Stephen Harries 4 and 3.
