Monkton Events Committee, supported by the Monkton Communities First team, held their very popular annual village fayre on Monkton Village Green and once again this was very well-attended by local residents.

The sun came out just in time and the whole day was bathed in sunshine.

There was the bouncy castle, tug-of-war, parachute games, raffles, glitter tattoos, face painting, scarecrow building and even a display of amazing snakes and lizards from Dragon Reptiles!

Neil Thomas was the MC and kept the day swinging along. There was a military model display in the Community Hall, refreshments available all day and even the fire brigade attended to the delight of the children.

Later in the afternoon, Kelly Williams School of Dance gave a fantastic display which included talented children of all ages.

Finally the children who had taken part in Monkton's got Talent the previous week gave a repeat performance to huge applause.

Local resident, Michelle Ferrier said: "What a wonderful day! It's fantastic to see so many Monkton people coming out and enjoying the Fayre together."

The village fayre would not have happened without the support of Pembroke Town Council, Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Lions Club, the Rotary Club of Pembroke, and Milford Haven Port Authority. Thanks also to Main Street Music, Jabberwocky Crafts, Valero, RWE nPower and others who donated some wonderful raffle prizes.
