With just a short time to go to the NOPA school reunion on July 27, at Nantyffin Motel, Llandissilio, it's good to be able to report that the great jig-saw of organising the event is pleasantly coming together.

A successful night is on the cards, with former pupils as far back as the class of 1923 up the '60s, coming from abroad - USA, New Zealand and Australia - and all parts of the UK. Many will be meeting up for the first time in 40 or 50 years to remember and reminisce about the good old days in school.

Joining them will be a number of teachers - at least two are also former pupils - who taught at the school from the late '50s up until the school closed in 1986. Two of those teachers used to drive from Cardigan to Crymych to catch the school bus. They're hoping to meet up with many of those pupils who made that journey to Narberth on the Edwards school bus.

Messages have been received from a number of former pupils who due to illness etc. will not be able to attend, but wishing the occasion great success and at the same time hoping there will be another reunion in the future that they can attend.

Entertainment will be provided by Teifryn Rees - a former pupil - one of Wales's finest tenors, who could well be joined by two other well-known local tenors - one a former pupil, the other married to a former pupil, Three Tenors - a class act!

Mrs. Bronwen Jones, widow of Mr. Ivor (Jiggs) Jones - the fourth headmaster - will be the guest of honour. Also attending will be son Clive and Dr. Beryl Banner, daughter of Mr. Sam Evans, the third headmaster.

Late applications to attend will be accepted by 'phoning (01559) 362625.

Many people attending hope to make a full day by attending Narberth Carnival in the afternoon.
