Environment Agency Wales staff from their Haverfordwest, Crosshands, Lampeter and Llandarcy officers got together recently at Freshwater West, for a beach clean to support World Environment Day. Over 30 members of staff joined forces with Keep Wales Tidy volunteers to remove as much litter as possible from the shore. Some 70 bags of rubbish were collected, plus two wooden pallets, various large plastic containers and a lot of fishing netting. Simone Eade, organiser of the event said: "As part of the World Environment Day campaign, all staff were encouraged to get out into the open air and do something practical. We chose Freshwater West beach, not only because of its spectacular location, but also because clearing marine litter is great for local people and for wildlife."
