Tuesday saw the official opening of Tavernspite's new Out of School Club.
Run by play leaders Margaret Sharratt and Karen Titley, the club provides after-school and holiday care for children aged between four and 11 years.
The club, which is registered to look after 24 children, is open Monday to Friday from 3 pm until 5.30 pm and every week day out of term time from 8.30 am until 5.30 pm.
The club meets at the Village Hall where the youngsters can take part in various activities, including painting, crafts, cookery, reading and playing games. Healthy snacks are also provided.
The club was opened on Tuesday by Trefor Jones, chairman of Lampeter Velfrey Community Council, who is seen here with Brian Jones, headmaster of Tavernspire CP School, Peter Preece, school governor, Jenny Hills, club committee member, Margaret and Karen and members of the club.
