The Span Arts Cheerful Project and the directorial team of Narberth Youth Theatre have launched Act Your Shoe Size, a new skills-based drama group where adults can create, play and perform.

When enquiries started to come in requesting a performance group specifically for adults, they decided to take the plunge and have a go at planning this new initiative together.

To test the water and gauge the level of interest, The Cheerful project has held a series of monthly performance events since January this year, including storytelling, physical theatre and improvisation. The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive and because of this, Act Your Shoe Size has now been launched.

The course of six sessions will be held fortnightly and will be led by Meredydd Barker and Sophie Pierce, of Narberth Youth Theatre, and supported by the Span Arts Cheerful Project. If the sessions are well attended, they will continue with more sessions in September.

Act Your Shoe Size is testament to the fact that you are never too old to have a go.

According to scientific research, adults need to play and it has a whole host of health benefits too. Not only can play improve brain function, it can also relieve stress, stimulate the mind and boost creativity, as well as improve your relationships with others and keep you feeling young and energetic.

With all this in mind, there surely isn’t a reason not to attend a workshop and have the chance to play! Come along to meet like-minded individuals and explore your creative side through theatre games, skills and techniques.

Act Your Shoe Size will happen every other Thursday continuing on May 26, 9 & 23 June 9 and 23, July 7 and 21, at the Old Court House, Narberth, first floor, from 7 - 9 pm.

The entire course of six sessions costs only £24 or you can book onto individual sessions at £6 each.
