This month, Learning Pembrokeshire, at Tenby Community Learning Centre, in conjunction with Tenby Library Services, will be holding a variety of free bitesize workshops and demonstrations to actively promote and encourage engagement in Community Learning activities such as - learning Welsh, improving Essential Skills, improving Digital Literacy and actively promoting other community learning activities which raise awareness in keeping active and improving health and well-being.

On Monday, June 18 - Phil Okwedy, a locally based storyteller, presents story telling for adults, between 7 and 9 pm.

On Wednesday, June 20, a coffee morning will take place between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm, along with children’s story time linked to a family stained paper crafting session in the library; and Stained glass demonstration.

A variety of free bite-size ‘Have a go’ sessions will also be held throughout the day:

11 am to 12 pm - Digital literacy - Using your tablet creatively; 12 to 12.30pm - Learning Welsh taster; 12 to 1 pm - Chair yoga; 1 to 2 pm - Digital literacy - Being safe online; 1.30 to 3.30 pm - Stained glass workshop.

Tuesday, June 26, a bitesize creative writing workshop, will take place from 7 to 9 pm.

Running up to Adult Learners Week, today (Friday) there will be an Open Day at Pembroke Dock Community Learning centre from 10 am to 2 pm with free taster sessions – Yoga, Mindfulness, Silk Painting and Cake Decorating are examples of what will be running throughout the day.

This will be followed by a wide range of fun packed family activities at Pembroke Dock Memorial Gardens on Sunday from 12 to 4 pm.

The week of Adult Learning activities culminates with a ‘Celebration of learning’ event, being held at Pembrokeshire Archives in Haverfordwest on Friday, June 22 from 10 am to 3 pm, where there will be free tasters and a learner awards ceremony.
