Tenby Ace and former Ironman Aled Smith was given the ‘honour and privilege’ of presenting Wales Captain Alun Wyn Jones with a wreath to lay before the start of the Wales v Australia rugby game on November 10, as Welsh rugby paid tribute to those who lost their lives in World War I.
It was one of several tributes to honour the fallen, including a two-minutes’ silence before kick-off at the Principality Stadium.
Aled said: “It was an absolute honour and privilege to represent the Royal Welsh and British Army at the Principality Stadium on this 100th Anniversary.”
More honour is in store for Aled as he has now also been announced winner of the annual ‘Aces in Places’ competition 2018!
