Welsh cloud accountancy firm - LHP Accountants, has donated money to West Wales Schools for at-home learning during lockdown.
The firm is pledging £10,000 towards IT equipment in schools across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, to help facilitate learning by Zoom.
With Covid-19 surging, pupils in Wales are now not expected to return to classrooms until after the February mid-term break at minimum.
Many children lack equipment needed to work from home such as laptops and related equipment to do Zoom classroom learning and are being left behind.
The firm is helping primary schools in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire with IT equipment for digital remote learning - namely key stage 2 pupils aged 7 to 11, requiring Zoom classroom learning.
LHP Managing Director Matthew Williams said: “As a firm of Cloud accountants, we are seeing an increasing drive to a more digital business platform and some children are missing out, not only on their education but also on IT skills paramount for their future careers. I hope our donation will be able to help and support those children towards a better future and improve the #DigitalSkillsGap in Wales.”
LHP Accountants has offices in Tenby, Haverfordwest, Lampeter and Carmarthen, employing a team of 65, many of whom with children at home, and know only too well, the daily importance of strong IT skills.
The firm works with thousands of businesses in the region to get them digital - from providing software automation, to running virtual finance teams.
