AN acclaimed folk trio from Coventry will be starting the 2009 season of concerts in the beautiful chapel of Burnett's Hill, near Martletwy.

"Isambarde were one of the hits of the summer folk festival circuit and have recently been performing and recording with Phil Beer of 'Show of Hands,' so we are delighted that they have agreed to appear at Burnett's Hill," said concert organiser, Keith Johnson.

Isambarde boast the unusual but highly effective musical combination of fiddle, oboe and guitar, plus electrifying vocal harmonies, which should benefit from the little chapel's wonderful acoustics.

"This is our fifth year of running concerts, and with names like Uiscedwr, Simon Swarbrick, Dan Cassidy and Tim Kliphuis already lined up, 2009 promises to live up to the high standards we have set in previous years," said Keith.

Isambarde will be performing at Burnett's Hill on Wednesday, January 21. Tickets cost £6 and are available from the Pembroke Bookshop.
