Mayor of Narberth, Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees, has rapped her fellow councillors over the knuckles for their non-attendance at a planning meeting.
Following concerns over the way Pembrokeshire County Council were dealing with planning applications for the town, councillors called a special meeting with Mrs. Lynda Taylor, the authority's principal development control officer, to thrash out their problems.
However, speaking at Tuesday night's monthly town council meeting, Clr. Mrs. Rees said she was disappointed at the turnout from councillors.
"I thought everyone was keen to have the meeting, but only five councillors turned up, which was rather poor," she said.
"It was a very constructive meeting and Mrs. Taylor was very helpful," she continued.
"She spent a considerable amount of time answering our questions and taking us through the planning process, explaining what her job involved and the agenda and criteria that is followed when applications are determined," added Clr. Mrs. Rees, who was also pleased to note that Mrs. Taylor was interested to hear the council's comments about plans that they were asked to consider.
Clr. Mrs. Val Bradley was also of the same opinion.
"I really felt Mrs. Taylor was there for us to refer to," she said.
Members agreed to write to Mrs. Taylor thanking her for attending the meeting.
