The Noah's Ark Appeal is raising funds to build the first purpose-built children's hospital for Wales which will cost £21 million. Wales is the only country in Europe without such a facility. Already a sum of £3.5 million has been raised and the first phase of the hospital can be started when £5 million has been achieved.

Dyfed-Powys Police, with support from the Prince's Trust, the 14th Signal regiment. Pembrokeshire County Council, Pembrokeshire Challenges and the Fire Brigade, amongst others, have organised a sponsored abseil, where participants will raise £500-plus sponsorship to take part. A number of celebrities will be taking part and the organisers are currently awaiting confirmation of who exactly will be there.

On Thursday, March 7, at 2 pm, the launch of the Noah's Ark Appeal 'Cleddau Bridge Abseil' will take place. Costumes have been purposely made of the animal characters that represent the Noah's Ark Appeal and they were sponsored by Oakwood.

These four animals, a hippo, lion, tiger and giraffe will demonstrate the 160ft free abseil from the Cleddau Bridge into a boat, encouraging the public to participate in the sponsored abseil which will be held on Saturday, July 20.
