Forget Spielberg and Scorcese - Stackpole pupils have shown they're first-class movie-makers in their own right, with the release of their first film. 'Abracadabra Bully Kazam!' was written, directed, filmed and acted by six pupils from Year 5 at Stackpole VC School. "They put a lot of very hard work into this film and the results are exceptional," said Damian Golden, from Pembrokeshire Youth - Pembrokeshire County Council's Youth Service - who assisted the pupils with fellow youth worker Nick Hudd. Taking bullying as its central theme, the film aimed to show that everyone is an individual and different, and that nobody has a right to bully others. Shot locally, including the grounds at Pembroke Castle, the film adopted a Harry Potteresque approach, with lots of special effects. The methodologies used also ensured that the children had the chance to further develop their film-making skills as well as boosting their confidence and self-esteem. The film was premiered at Stackpole VC School recently in front of an invited audience.
