Tafarn Sinc has always encouraged customers to use their Welsh and in particular learners who require practice and confidence to attain fluency. The staff are always ready to oblige and travel that extra mile of patience.
Both are originally from Cardiff, but were never taught Welsh in school and had never experienced Welsh as a community language. Why learn the language then Grace?
“Well, because I am Welsh. That’s enough of a reason in itself,” was the decisive answer.
Why come to Tafarn Sinc then Gretta?
“Well, because of the atmosphere. We want to hear the language,” she replied as she searched for another word in her textbook. “It is so heart-warming to go somewhere where you know there will be a Welsh welcome. ‘And Say Something in Welsh’ is wonderful as well,” she added.

But it’s highly likely they will return to Tafarn Sinc in Rosebush/Rhos-y-bwlch in the heart of the Preselau on a frequent basis as well from now on. Tafarn Sinc will do its bit to create a million Welsh speakers by 2050.
