Interested in working in a beautiful environment, meeting new people and gaining a whole new social life.
Well Picton Castle and Gardens charity trust are looking for volunteers to help with the various gardening duties. So if you've got green fingers, or just an interest in gardens, why not join a merry group of volunteers!
Picton Castle and Gardens is a magical place to visit at any time of year - so imagine what it's like working there as a gardener. Green-fingered and hands-on, you'll make sure that all gardens and grounds are beautifully presented and kept. Volunteers will gain shared knowledge from their gardeners and other volunteers in horticulture and topics of interest to the home gardener.
Situated close to the Cleddau Estuary, known locally as the 'hidden waterway', Picton Castle comprises 40 acres of some of the most beautiful woodland gardens and grounds in Wales.
The nationally important woodland gardens contain unique rhododendrons and roses, rare conifers, tree ferns and bamboos and are part of the RHS access scheme.
Volunteers' sessions will be held each Wednesday between 9 am. and 5 pm. There is a lunch break for an hour and breaks at 11 am and 3 pm in the gardens. As a volunteer, you will be required to work a minimum of four hours per session; tea and coffee will be provided.
Once a total of 50 hours of volunteer work in the gardens has been reached, you will be presented with a free garden membership.
