LOCAL author Richard Jones has released a new novel 'A Flight Home'. Set partly in Wales, this is a tale of murder, romance and intrigue. Casper Watkins, a famous author, has gone missing. Jenny Millington, a North Walian, who works for a London publishing house, is trying to establish his whereabouts. She arranges to see his agent, Henson Littlewood, but after their meeting he is murdered. At the time Watkins is holed up in Wales, writing a new novel based on the stories of the Mabinogion, a collection of 11th century Welsh tales of romance and drama. Eventually Jenny and Casper combine to put together the pieces of improbity that led to the death of his dear friend and agent Henson Littlewood. Born in North Wales, Richard Jones will be well remembered locally. He moved to the area in 1997 when he retired from the financial services industry, although his wife Meg continued to work at the Midland Bank in Tenby until they moved back to Newport in 2005 While in Pembrokeshire, they first lived at Millfields Close in Pentlepoir and then moved into Saundersfoot village at Brooklands Close. During their time in the area they were both involved in the fund-raising activities of the Tenby RNLI, while Richard was a member of Tenby Golf Club and fondly remembers that it was there that he scored his one and only hole-in-one. It was while in Saundersfoot that he seriously began to pursue the publication of the stories he had written, having produced numerous novels and short stories that draw on the colour and texture of the places he has lived in. The Wye Valley, Pembrokeshire, Spain and Majorca have all featured in his work. 'A Flight Home' is available from all local bookshops as well as on the web, from amazon, play.com and http://www.authorhouse.co.uk">www.authorhouse.co.uk.
