There have been many paintings of Tenby’s picturesque harbour over the years, but the one seen below is a little bit special.
Why? Because it is the work of disabled artist Rachael Smith-Ruffle from Manchester, who was paralysed due to a bad accident 21 years ago.
Rachel says she visits the area as often as possible as she loves Tenby and Pembrokeshire, but she has only been painting for the past 15 months.
“Before that I didn’t know I could paint. I was on complete bedrest for 15 months due to a very serious pressure sore,” she explained. “I got really depressed, so taught myself to paint to give myself a focus and a purpose. I have no grip in my hands, so everything I paint is two-handed.
