The Mayor of Narberth has given her council colleagues a polite reminder about protocol.

Speaking at Tuesday night's monthly meeting, Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers said that she had asked for the matter to be placed on the agenda after 'a few' members left early the previous month, with only one being asked to be excused.

This had led to an item on the agenda - plans for the Queen's diamond jubilee - being unable to be discussed.

Clr. Mrs. Rogers asked councillors to remember that they should be on time for meetings and if they should be late, they should give their apologies on arrival.

"If you can't be at a meeting, please give your apologies, but make it a good reason," she said.

"We are here to serve the town and should do our best to attend all meetings," she continued.

"During meetings, we should only be having one meeting through the chair, with no interruptions and with only one councillor talking at a time.

"I appreciate we do have heated debates and the diversity of our council makes it work as it does."
