Local TROT super veteran Ron Morgan, 66 years of age, ran an excellent race at Carmarthen racing track recently.
The sole TROT runner ran an amazing 66 laps of the track to complete the 16.5 miles in 2 hrs 21 mins. This result meant that Ronnie, the ex-Llanboidy boxer, was first super vet home in 24th position.
Ron is a true Corinthian who always has a good word for his fellow competitors.
He made the comment: "I much prefer orienteering over the hills than the track - there is less chance of a navigational error!"
He is an example of shear dedication, fitness and sportsmanship, which provides us with a role model we can all aspire to.
