Tenby Museum and Art Gallery has recently had donated to its collection a Cap a Pie suit of armour.
The armour, which covered from head to foot, comprises a visor, breast shield, laminated arm pieces, a chain mail apron and a sword approximately 1.5 metres (five-feet) in length.
The item was donated to the museum by the Botanic Garden Museum in Southport, where it was labelled as being from Tenby Castle.
In fact, it came from St. Catherine's Fort, known as Tenby Castle, where it used to stand when the building was a private residence owned by the Windsor-Richards family. Their collection of paintings, furniture and antiques was sold off by auction in 1940.
The suit of armour now stands in the Story of Tenby Gallery at the museum.
