Strong A* grades, 1.6% per cent above the national comparator, have secured high performing students their places at some of the UK's top universities. In addition AS outcomes saw a significant increase on last year's results.

High-flying student, Jay Burnet (A*, A, A, A) said: "College surpassed my expectations, all thanks to a great team of science and maths lecturers."

Jay, who will be studying Physics in Bristol, collected his results and a cheque for £1,000, as part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) bursary at the college.

Jay's mum Lisa also commented: "The support and encouragement from everyone has been overwhelming, this has been the most positive learning experience for my son."

Other student university destinations include: Edinburgh University, Cardiff University, Swansea University and Kingston University.

The college also offers online A-level courses for students to study home or abroad.

Max Robinson, 28, was more than delighted with his results - B Biology and A Chemistry. Max clearly demonstrates that focus and determination can get you exactly what you want, even when holding down a full-time job with Sign Box in Templeton and volunteering work.

"Online learning was the only route for me as I didn't want to give up my day job. The A-levels were a combination of online learning and practical sessions held at the college, I am really pleased with my results and I have been accepted by Swansea University to study Marine Biology, " enthused Max.

The college's deputy principal, Dr Barry Walters, said: "To maintain a similar performance to last year's excellent results is very pleasing and confirms to us the quality of our A-level provision and the commitment of our students and staff."
