With just over three weeks to go until the Span Arts BIG Plant Sale at Narberth, plans are afoot to make this year’s event a great day out for all the family!
The BIG Plant sale, now in its 23rd year, is an annual, must-go event for gardeners in Pembrokeshire. It’s also a chance to let your hair down, taste excellent food, hear some great local music, and see the rest of the community enjoying the sunshine after the long wet winter.
Top notch plant sellers from all over West Wales as well as local charities and other voluntary or not-for-profit groups will congregate to bring you the best blooms, most sought-after seedlings and perkiest plants to take back and populate your garden with this Spring.
The event raises funds for Span Arts, the Narberth-based charity committed to providing low-cost, high-quality performances and arts experiences for people from all over Pembrokeshire and beyond.
This year’s event, organised by the Span Arts Cheerful Project, will bring the additional excitement of fun, family-friendly activities and workshops. There will also be a bouncy castle, face-painting, music from the Sleeping Dogs, sea shanty singing and more.
Maggie Moss, Span Arts’ trustee, said: “I’m passionate about the BIG Plant Sale; it really does kick-off the summer social scene in West Wales, enticing people out to start enjoying what living in Pembrokeshire is all about!”
Span Arts welcomes plant donations for their own stall and prizes for their Big Green Raffle, and the charity is always grateful for volunteers to help out on the day in lots of different roles.
Children’s entry is free, and entry for adults is a donation of £2, which goes directly into the running costs of the Plant Sale and to support Span Arts in their delivery of events, workshops and outreach projects for children and adults.
For more information on booking a last minute pitch or to donate plants, call Span Arts on 01834 869323 or email [email protected].
