THE Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra is returning to Pembrokeshire later this month to give a performance at the Penfro Centre, Pembroke School.

Entitled Tchaikovsky Night – a concert for all the family - they will be appearing on Saturday, February 23.

This will be subsequent to their performance at St. David's Hall, Cardiff, marking their 20th anniversary. A glass of wine will be served for those attending.

The programme will open with the stirring sounds of Marche Slave, followed by the most joyful of all Tchaikovsky's symphonies, the Symphony No 2 'Little Russian'. There is also a suite from his greatest ballet, 'The Sleeping Beauty' (including the famous Waltz and the Rose Adagio), before the 1812 Overture gives an explosive end to the concert.

This event is sponsored by Texaco and arranged through the Rotary Club of Pembroke. All proceeds will go to the Rotary Club of Pembroke Charity Fund which is distributed to local worthy causes.
