Sir, Hooray, hooray, hooray! At last the council buildings on The Croft are to be sold and (hopefully) refurbished to the standard this part of the town deserves. Unfortunately, the council, in its wisdom, has decided to relocate the Tourist Information Centre at Somerfield. What a shame! There can be no doubt that the TIC is located in an ideal position, catching visitors as they drive into town on the A478, with magnificent views displaying the best of Tenby. Whereas the area around Somerfield car park demonstrates the worst of past planning designs. Why not buy or lease the empty Pig and Puffin? It could be refurbished to provide an excellent visitor centre and replace the eyesore we have all grown to hate. If this old pub is not suitable, there are two empty shops next door just crying out to be saved. So come on council and Wales Tourist Board, take this opportunity to solve two big Tenby problems at the same time and get it right for once!
Sharon Strong (Miss),
44 Croft Court, Tenby.
