Pembrokeshire Autograss Club (PAC) held their annual dinner and presentation at DJ's, Penally, on Saturday.

Following a fantastic four-course meal, the secretary of PAC took to the floor and thanked brothers David and Jonathon Harris, of Hays Farm, Lamphey, for 11 great years of autograss racing.

Michaela Bevans then went on to thank all the PAC members and officials for all of their hard work and dedication in whct had been a very busy year, as the PAC Club proudly hosted round one of the British Autograss Series back in May.

The PAC Autograss Club again achieved a new goal in 2011, with Rob Corbett PAC3 regaining his Men's Champion of Champions title, the first for the PAC Club. His yellow Micra has been in excellent form all year and Rob is the man in Class Four with his excellent driving skills. On top of this, Rob Corbett won his first British title in the class, although it went to the wire and was not decided until the final of round five of the British Autograss Series.

Also in the Men's National Championship, Will Elford PAC81 finished fifth in the very close Class One final.

Moving onto the ladies of PAC, the Bevans sisters shone through, with young Alice Bevans PAC2 obtaining her first National win in Class One. This was a remarkable achievement, as 2011 was Alice's first season out of juniors. She drove the race of her autograss life, going from eighth to first. Alice also competed in the five British Autograss Series rounds and finished the season third overall.

Young Alice Bevans also had the privilege of racing Rob Corbett's flying Micra in Class Four at the Ladies Nationals and on lap two took the lead and drove ahead until the final corner when she was just pipped to the line and came home in second place.

With the pressure on, Michaela Bevans knew she had to deliver in the National Ladies Class Seven final and on the large fast track near Hereford she put her 1580cc Hyabusa motorbike powered Mini to the limit with her normal sideways driving skills and claimed the title for the second time.

In the British Championship, Michaela finished the season in second place.

Shelley Neale PAC16 had a good year in Class Two and gained the fourth place cup, with younger sister Bobbie Neale finishing fifth in Ladies Class One.

Paula Rees Williams, racing 'Sauces' rapid Class Two Micra PAC51, had to have a run-off for eighth place at the Ladies Nationals, but come final time, she drove superbly, passing competitors in all different manoeuvres and finished runner-up in the Class Two final.

The Pembrokeshire Autograss Club is moving to a new track for the 2012 season, with the venue to be advertised shortly. For all enquiries, contact Michaela on 01646 686253 or Helen on 01239 710478.
