A Pembroke Dock woman who went on a spending spree after finding a lost credit card has pleaded guilty to the offence in court.

Twenty-six-year-old Kayleigh Davies, of Pembroke Street, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to plead guilty to a charge of theft by finding, after taking control of a Barclays Bank card lost by the owner.

The court heard how on June 20, Miss Davies subsequently used the card that she had found by paying for items on twelve separate occasions in seven commercial premises in Pembroke Dock and Haverfordwest using the contactless payment method, with the total spent amounting to £163.24.

She also admitted to a further charge of stealing a canned drink worth £1.35 from the Londis store in Pembroke Dock on July 13 at the same hearing.

Magistrates fined Miss Davies £80 and she was ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
