A Narberth man who got into a fight outside a Milford Haven nightclub after drinking from 5 pm to 6.30 am has appeared in court charged with using threatening behaviour.

Twenty-four-year-old Daniel Luke Wood, of Llawhaden, pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that this was an ‘unsavoury incident’ that occurred at 7 am on October 29 near to the Basement nightclub.

“There were no actual complainants, but police viewed CCTV and saw the defendant involved, fighting a number of persons.

“He told police that he’d been drinking since 5 pm the day before until 6.30 am that morning,” he said.

Mr. Wood, who was covered in blood when arrested, also told police officers “to be honest, I’m as much to blame as anyone else, as I threw a lot of punches.”

Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told the court that Mr. Wood had got into a ‘scuffle’, but ran away from it and it was actually him who called the police.

“He was plain and blunt in the police interview about what happened,” he explained.

Magistrates fined Mr. Wood £200 for the offence and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
