Tenby RNLI’s lifeboat crew were alerted to search for a missing surfer at Rhossili beach, but the situation resolved itself as the person returned safely to shore.
On Sunday, November 9, following the Remembrance Sunday parade for the town, that the crew of the Tenby RNLI took part in, the all-weather lifeboat was requested to launch at approximately 4.20pm after a report of a missing surfer at Rhossili beach on the Gower peninsula, which is 15nm south-east of Tenby.
As the crew were mustering and preparing to launch the Tamar, news came through from Milford Haven Coastguard that the surfer had safely returned to shore and was no longer missing or in difficulty.
With this, the crew were stood down from the tasking.
