A Tenby man who told a judge he preferred a prison sentence to community service has had his wish granted.
Thirty-two-year-old, Blake Walker had received a 12-month community order following a fracas outside his then home.
But he was fined £200 for breaching the order in March and appeared at Swansea crown court this week for two further infringements, including not attending appointments with the probation service.
Judge Geraint Walters told Walker, of Holloway Court, Penally, “it sounds as if you want to go to prison.”
Walker’s barrister, Ashanti-Jade Walton, said that was true.
“He has spent two and a half weeks in custody awaiting sentencing and thinks it is the best thing that has happened to him,” she added.
Judge Walters jailed him for eight months.
The court heard the original order had been imposed for threatening to damage property, a public order offence and resisting a police officer.
Walker’s partner had arrived home to find the place in a mess and £100 missing.
She told Walker to leave, but he sat in his van sounding the horn and threatened to ram her car and the porch of the house.
