Tenby firefighters galloped into action last night when they were tasked with rescuing a two year-old horse that had become stuck in a bog.

The rescue took place shortly before 7.30 pm on Thursday (May 4) in Kilgetty.

Crew members used strops and lines to help pull the horse from the bog, and also assisted the vet in treating the horse.

“The animal was completely exhausted and dehydrated, but afre being rescued from the mud, she responded well to the vet’s treatment and was back on all fours within an hour,” said a spokesperson for the Tenby crew.
