Tenby RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was launched shortly after 11.30 am on Sunday (July 10), after a member of the public reported that a kayaker looked to be in difficulty off South Beach.

The lifeboat was soon alongside the kayak, between Tenby and Caldey Island, but the occupant was in no danger. The volunteer crew gave suitable safety advice, before returning to station.

The second shout of the day came at 3.40 pm, after a report that several paddle boarders were possibly in trouble in the Giltar area.

The lifeboat was quickly on scene and after a brief search, the crew on the Y-boat found the paddleboarders safely ashore on Penally beach.
