Police have provided an update following a multi-agency search for two individuals last seen in distress at a Carmarthenshire beach, late last night.
Dyfed-Powys Police working with the coastguard conducted the search following reports of two individuals, possibly in distress, near the coastline at Cefn Sidan beach at Pembrey, Burry Port, after a call was received at around 9.50pm on Monday, June 8 reporting two individuals dressed in dark clothing and waving a torch near the water’s edge.
Dyfed-Powys Police provided the following update today (June 9): “Further to the call received yesterday (8 June) concerned for individuals at Cefn Sidan beach, the information has been reviewed and officers are satisfied that there was no risk of harm or danger posed, though the call was made with good intent.
“With help from our partner agencies, a search of the beach and nearby area has been concluded with no persons found.
“No further calls of concern have been received, and no missing persons have been reported in the area.
“We always take reports of this nature seriously and we want to thank the public for their vigilance. Thank you to our partners for their assistance overnight.”
