Tenby RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was launched at 5.50pm on Tuesday, July 14 after the coastguard received several 999 calls stating that four adults and two children were cut off by the incoming tide on the beach below the Imperial Hotel and the water was coming in fast around them.

The volunteer crew were on scene within a minute and quickly located the casualties, who were now with an RNLI beach lifeguard that had heard they were in difficulty and paddled around to offer assistance.

The adults and children, who were none the worse for their ordeal, were taken aboard the lifeboat and returned to nearby Castle Beach from where they made their way home.
