Pembroke Dock Neighbourhood Policing Team is urging residents to ensure that they secure their vehicles and not to leave any valuables on display, to minimise the risk of losing items to opportunist thieves.

The team wants to remind residents that whilst the level of crime in Dyfed-Powys is amongst the lowest in the UK, opportunist criminals can still be a problem.

Residents are advised to take simple steps to ensure that they do not fall victim to opportunist thieves.

Police advise to follow these simple steps to protect belongings and your vehicle: close all windows and lock all doors; including the boot; always activate any security system on your vehicle; don’t leave valuables such as handbags, mobile ’phones or any other items on display (leaving even low value items on display makes your vehicle more vulnerable to attack from thieves); remove any gadget holders (’phones, sat navs etc) out of sight; secure valuables and other items in the boot; be wary of where you park your vehicle.
