Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating an allegation of assault which occurred at Pembroke Castle during the Status Quo performance on Friday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 9.30 pm; and one male was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Taking to social media to describe the ‘unprovoked attack’, Helen Hedley who attended the Rock the Castle gig with her 65-year-old husband Tony - the victim of the assault - said the culprit was aged 30 to 40 and was wearing a cowboy hat and glasses.

“All he did was to ask this person to calm down as he was insulting and bumping into two of the ladies in our group,” she posted.

“This had already happened several times during the evening!”

Describing her husband she said he is 65 and fit for his age but has a defibrillator in his chest.

“It went off twice during this assault - flooring him, the ‘person’ then jumped on him and carried on until he was pulled off,” she continued.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information which could help the investigation is asked to contact police on 101.
