A 52 year old man appeared at Swansea crown court on Friday charged with the murder of Simon Clark at Pendine.

Steven Baxter, who was listed at Swansea crown court as Wayne Tidy, appeared via video link from Cardiff prison where he is being held on remand.

Baxter was not asked to enter a plea at this stage.

He was listed for a bail application but no application was actually made.

The court heard that Baxter had been arrested while hiding behind a rock between Marros Sands and Pendine following information from a member of the public.

He is accused of stabbing to death Mr Clark at Grove caravan park in Pendine, where they both lived, on September 28.

Four others have already been arrested in connection with the murder.

Judge Keith Thomas instructed the prosecution to bring Baxter’s case in line with that against the other four.
