A Penally man has been banned from getting behind the wheel of a vehicle for 17 months after admitting a drink-drive charge in court.

Forty-eight-year-old Wayne Allen pleaded guilty to driving while above the legal alcohol level when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday.

The court heard that Mr. Allen was breathalysed as part of a routine police stop at The Ridgeway at 11.30 am on Saturday, December 3.

After his arrest, the defendant gave a positive reading at the police station of 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates disqualified Mr. Allen from driving for 17 months and fined him £150 for the offence.

He was also ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
