Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are holding an Open Day at its Carmarthen Fire Station and Service Headquarters next Friday, September 1.

Between 10 am and 4 pm, Carmarthen Fire Station will be open to the public to view in detail the variety of duties the Fire and Rescue Service perform.There is plenty to do for young families, including the Kids Play Fire Engine, face painting, children’s games, a chance to meet a hawk and - good friend Marshall the Fire Dog from Paw Patrol (seen in picture) will be on hand to greet youngsters throughout the day.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer, Chris Davies, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming the public to our Service Headquarters on September 1. This is an excellent opportunity for the public to learn more about their Fire and Rescue Service. We will have a whole host of demonstrations and interactive displays of our work, including chip pan fire, smoke house, road safety, arson reduction, bike safety, water rescue and much more.

“Our firefighters will also be on hand to provide fire safety advice and join in a wide range of fun activities.

“It promises to be a great day out and I look forward to greeting you all there.”

A free park and ride will be available from Trinity St. David all day. Disabled car parking facilities are provided and available on site.
