A Milford Haven man who was stopped in his car whilst driving under the influence of drugs has been given a driving ban.
Thirty-five-year-old Christopher Mark Cole, of Robert Street, admitted a charge of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of cannabis in his system when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court last week.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that at 7 pm on June 16 in Haverfordwest, police officers carried out a routine stop check on the Nissan Primastar vehicle that Mr. Cole was driving.
Police could smell cannabis and carried out a roadside drugs test, which Mr. Cole failed and was subsequently arrested for.
Defence solicitor Jonathan Webb told magistrates that his client accepted the facts, but disputed if 10ug was high enough to be considered driving under the influence, with the limit being two.
Mr. Webb added that the defendant had issues with cannabis and was seeking help.
He explained that he had also lost his job because of the court proceedings.
Magistrates disqualified Mr. Cole from driving for 12 months and fined him £120 for the offence.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
