A man was jailed for eight weeks after repeated incidents of theft and damage to the window of Tenby’s Co-operative store.
On March 22, at 4.36 pm, 32-year-old Asa Wandelt stole a bottle of whisky and a bottle of milk to the value of £21 from the Co-op store on the Green, Tenby.
At 6.30 pm on the same day Mr. Wandelt stole an Easter Egg worth £10. An hour later he returned a third time and stole four bottles of gin worth £58 in total.
The damage to the Co-op window occured the following day.
Mr. Wandelt was further charged with three separate incidents of theft at Reading - an electric razor from Boots, three bottles of vodka from Sainsbury’s and two bottles of rum from Marks and Spencers. These items were recovered. He pled guilty to all the above charges, which was taken into account when sentencing.
The reason the offences were regarded as so serious as to warrant a custodial sentence was because of the defendant’s record of previous offending.
