British Transport Police have confirmed that a 44-year-old male died after being hit by a train on Sunday morning near to Saundersfoot railway station.

The incident took place on the Whitland to Pembroke Dock line shortly before 10 am, with rail services subsequently disrupted for over four hours.

“Officers were called to the tracks in Sunnyside, Saundersfoot at 9.58 am after a report that a person had been struck by a train,” said a spokesperson for the British Transport Police.

“Colleagues from the ambulance service also attended, however, a 44-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and file is being prepared for the coroner,” they added.
