Tenby RNLI’s lifeboat crew quickly responded to a call about possible paddleboarders in trouble - only to discover that they were two men who had headed onto St Catherine’s Island for a spot of fishing.

The inshore lifeboat was launched at around 6.15pm on Sunday, September 7 after Coastguards received a call stating that two paddleboarders were possibly in difficulty near the island, which sits right opposite the station, on Castle Beach.

The crew were on scene in seconds and spoke to the people, who confirmed they had paddleboarded out to the island to fish and were in no danger.

The crew did a quick sweep of the island and along towards South Beach to make sure nobody was in difficulty, before returning to station.
