Tenby RNLI held their yearly exercise with the town’s fire brigade recently. The lifeboat crew took the firefighters over Caldey Island enabling them to carry out checks and plan for emergencies should they arise. “It’s good that we exercise together so that both services know what to expect from each other should we have to take them over in a real incident,” said Ben James, of Tenby RNLI. Among those in attendance was Clr. Wynne Evans, chairman of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, who said: “It was a amazing experience. I was a guest of both the lifeboat and fire crew, both of which I have huge respect for, given the work they do. I am grateful for their invitation. On Caldey, we had an extensive tour of the island, with Frank Miller acting as tour guide. He gave me a unique insight into the island, past and present, and I had the opportunity of seeing some spectacular views of Tenby.”
