A Pembroke Dock man has been fined in court after admitting possessing cannabis.
Twenty-five-year-old Daniel McKenzie, of Laws Street, appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, charged with possessing 0.5 grams of cannabis.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told magistrates that police searched the defendant’s house and discovered the cannabis, which he admitted was for his own personal use.
Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told the court that six police officers attended the property on December 23.
“Mr. McKenzie had his door broken through, which he then had to pay for to be fixed. He was found in possession of a very small amount of cannabis. He was of no bother to anybody else at all,” he explained.
Magistrates fined the defendant £80 for the offence and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge. A destruction order for the drugs was also passed.
