Beachgoers have been reminded to stay hydrated in the heat after emergency services were called to tend to an unwell person on Tenby’s South Beach yesterday (Tuesday).
Tenby Coastguard Team were paged to assist Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust paramedics to treat an unwell casualty on the South Beach in the afternoon.
RNLI Lifeguards were already on the scene attending to the casualty administrating first aid when the Coastguard team arrived.
Tenby Fire Station officers were also requested to provide extra support in case the casualty needed manually carrying off the beach in the hot sun.
Fortunately, the casualty was able to be assisted from the beach to the awaiting land ambulance for further care.
“Beachgoers are reminded to stay hydrated and ensure they have enough energy for beach activities when visiting the coast,” said a spokesperson for the Tenby Coastguard Team.
Later on that day, shortly after 5 pm, Tenby Coastguard Rescue team were also paged to assist Dyfed Powys Police officers tending to an incident at Manorbier beach.
Whilst Coastguard officers provided safety cover, police officers spoke with persons and assisted them from the beach.
