An emergency incident in Tenby involving police and fire crews has been resolved, with roads now reopened. Police have confirmed that a person has been taken to hospital for medical attention.

The incident on a street adjoining Tenby seafront, saw the road closed off for a period of time this morning and afternoon (June 4), whilst police and fire crews attended.

The road along the Esplanade was closed off, leading to side streets in the vicinity also being cordoned off by police officers.

Dyfed-Powys Police issued an appeal at the time for motorists to avoid the area, stating: “The road is currently closed due to an emergency incident. Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey.”

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that crews from Tenby, Pembroke Dock and Milford Haven also attened the incident.

“This is a multi-agency incident being led by Dyfed-Powys Police,” stated a spokesperson for the Fire Service.

With the incident drawing to a close, a police spokesperson told the Observer: “Dyfed-Powys Police responded to a report at approximately 10.35am today, regarding the concern for the welfare of an individual at a property on Esplanade in Tenby.

“Officers attended the scene with colleagues from both the ambulance and fire services, and the road was closed while emergency services were in present.

“The individual has been taken to hospital for medical attention,” they added.
