A 17-year-old boy has today admitted murdering Fiona Scourfield at her home near Laugharne.

He appeared at Swansea Crown Court before Judge Keith Thomas for what was listed as an ‘update’ hearing prior to trial.

But he immediately entered a plea of guilty to murdering Ms Scourfield, aged 54, on March 6 with an axe and a samurai sword.

He will be sentenced early next month after two psychiatrists have prepared reports on him.

He was remanded in custody meanwhile.
